A total rip off of early/mid period Kinks. Turns out, there's a sandwich shoppe in my hood named "Mr. Pickles", but that only subliminally influenced this song. I pictured him as a scrooge-like character, but a little more simpatico. (Recorded in 2003 and never released.)
lyrics
LYRICS:
Don't get greedy, Mr. Pickles. It's quite a disagreeable display.
It Is not a sin when other people win, that is how you arrived here today.
That's what you get, Mr. Pickles, for letting you affairs run amok.
You didn't dot your i's, you didn't mind your q's, and now it's come about that you are stuck.
(CHORUS) Mr. Pickles got no one to turn to in his time of need. Cause, Mr. Pickles, all of your friends' good advice you didn't heed.
You can't hide, Mr. Pickles: all your secret haunts, they have been bought.
Throw away the keys, confront your mad disease
You will never find that which you sought.
Don't get caught, Mr. Pickles, between the rock and dilemma's horns.
The show it must go on, even after you have gone, running off to chase your unicorns.
(CHORUS) Mr. Pickles got no one to turn to in his time of need. Cause, Mr. Pickles, all of your friends know just how you love to bleed them
Well, Mr. Pickles, isn't it ridiculous, so ridiculous? What about the rest of us? Why'd you do it, Mr. Pickles?
